I graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 1990 and have been in private practice since 1991. My practice focuses on the needs of families and their lifestyle. I provide a friendly and welcoming environment for gay and lesbian families as well as all families from any ethnic or religious background. Located in Seattle, my legal practice focuses on family law issues including but not limited to divorce / legal separations, domestic partnerships, adoptions, and paternity / custody. Mediation available in these areas as well as wills, trusts, probates, and small business formations. I am an adjunct faculty member at the Seattle University School of Law and serve on various State and local bar committees. My pro bono work focuses on family law through bar association programs.
Prior to practicing law, I was a literature professor for fifteen years, with a graduate degree from the University of Chicago. I also have a strong background in medical ethics and psychology and have served on boards and advisory committees of several institutions addressing such issues.
I am available during regular business hours and evenings and week-ends by special arrangement. It is the goal of my practice to serves families in ways appropriate to their ethnic, religious and sexual orientations and to work closely with care providers who may be appropriate in any given case. Most of my clients come to me by word of mouth referral from other clients and other professionals in the community.
